Office Building in Chalandri

Architecture with a strong urban presence

Located on a highly visible plot along the Attiki Odos axis, the building is designed to accommodate the offices of a multinational commercial company. Its prominent position and program led to an architectural approach defined by clarity, identity and a strong presence within the urban landscape.

A composition of volumes unfolding in layers

The architectural composition is structured through a sequence of layered volumes with shifting outlines. Each volume emerges from specific spatial and functional conditions, shaped through a series of projections and recesses that define the relationship between interior and exterior, movement and use.

The entrance as a transitional space

At ground level, a recessed volume forms the entrance and control zone. This outward-facing space connects the public realm with the interior.

Above, the first floor forms the primary volume and accommodates the main office areas. It projects over the recessed ground floor, shaping the roofscape and integrating outdoor space into the overall organization.

On the second floor, the geometry shifts again. The volume recedes to create an outdoor space directly connected to management and meeting areas. As a result, the workplace extends beyond the interior and incorporates the exterior into daily use.

Movement and geometry structured around a core

A central vertical circulation core organizes the building. It acts as a stable axis that anchors the shifting geometry.

Around it, volumes develop in a dynamic balance. At the same time, the sloped roof enhances the sense of movement and introduces a third dimension to the form, adding direction and intensity to the composition.

The façade as a filter of light and shadow

The façade features a system of vertical louvers that form a continuous secondary layer. This layer unifies the composition while regulating light.

Throughout the day, it creates shifting conditions of shade and continuously redefines the building’s appearance. At night, the effect reverses. Light from within diffuses outward, and the building reads as a unified luminous volume.

Clear flows and independent operation

The site is organized around two distinct access axes. One serves visitors and office spaces on the eastern side, while the other supports service functions on the western side. This separation ensures clear circulation and independent operation.

In addition, a boundary and screening zone runs across the site. It separates visitor parking from the protected internal area, where parking for management and staff is combined with extensive planting.

A cohesive architectural identity

Overall, the project operates as a coherent architectural proposition. Form, use and light work together as a unified system, giving this office building in Chalandri a distinct and recognizable identity.
