Residence, Paiania II
A contemporary home where design meets everyday life
This residence was designed for a family of four. A unique architectural study shaped by light, openness, and the need for connection. With its contemporary design, strong geometry, and emphasis on creative design, this two-storey modern residence expresses a sense of quiet confidence. It’s a house where the family not only lives but connects, celebrates, and grows together.
Ground floor : a space for connection
The ground floor was imagined as the beating heart of the house. Here, the interior layout design is fully open, allowing the kitchen, dining area, and living room to coexist fluidly. The space supports both the intimacy of family life and the warmth of larger gatherings with friends in this unique residence.
Large openings on all sides invite the garden in. When the weather allows it, the house opens up entirely. These large openings blur the boundaries between interior and exterior. This connection to the garden isn’t just visual. Its a main spatial experience of the houses and its garden. It allows the family to enjoy a lifestyle rooted in light, air, and nature.
A contemporary residence design anchored by material simplicity
One of the home’s design defining elements is the striking black staircase. A linear, sculptural presence at the center of the plan. Its linear form and dark tone serve as a visual anchor. In this way, the stair gives to the space both structure and character. Next to it, the kitchen, with its natural wood tones and matte finishes, brings a sense of quiet luxury. These darker materials, selected by the family, ground the space and contribute to its modern, minimalist design.
Supporting spaces—a guest room, WC, and storage room—are discreetly placed to allow the open plan to remain uninterrupted and focused. It’s a careful balance between creative layout and practical function.
Upper floor : privacy with a view
Upstairs, the master bedroom continues the darker palette, offering a sense of retreat. It features an open walk-in wardrobe and a generous en suite bathroom, tailored to the couple’s everyday rhythm. The children’s bedrooms are located nearby, designed with flexibility. A shared bathroom serves their needs, and a small sitting niche with a view of the distant olive groves complements the space next to the staircase.
Human-centered design
From the beginning, the intention of the architectural team was to create more than a house. The team wanted to design a space that felt personal. A home that speaks through its materials, its light, its proportions. A welcoming, generous, full of life space.
The interiors follow a restrained, minimalist language—never cold, but calm. Details are purposeful, and materials are honest. This is a space where form follows feeling, where quality design quietly enhances everyday space.
Each corner of the house holds a story. Whether it’s the morning light pouring into the kitchen or the quiet evening beneath the stairwell nook, this project embodies the belief that unique spaces can transform how we live.
A house that reflects lifestyle and light
At its core, this home is an expression of modern living, rooted in energy-efficient design and filled with warmth. It’s about balance: between openness and intimacy, between simplicity and richness, between architecture and life. A place shaped by iconic design, yet entirely personal.
